How to move a retail website by opening up a blog?  Most of the shopping categories are taken up when it comes to directories.  The reason is quite simple.  With a product or something to sell that puts that website into that one category only.  That basically means that website for that retail product is stuck in one place.  By adding a blog you can try to draw attention or try to move a website out of that one endless spot.  However, their are many rules of thumb when it comes to that.  Some people say it is the reason behind higher costs of links.

Things like +PetMeds  or pet retail centers; the trend in California is that they have opened nearly 300 actual shopping centers in less than a one hundred mile radius.  And there are no places to walk pets.  That is a lot of retail centers all placed into one geographic area.

In summary; it is the products and shopping category that limits the places of the website ranks because their is one category for that physical thing.  Also, many people have tried to rank blogs based on the amount of money value of the items they sell.
